DRAFT MASTER FACILITIES PLAN PHASES WITH DETAILED SCOPE OF WORK

PHASE ONE

Build:

New Mid-Town Elementary School – This project includes the construction of a new 25 classroom Elementary school including one classroom designated for flexibility or growth.  The project will be located on a Mid-Town site to meet the educational needs of students in the Mid-Town area.  The site size will allow sufficient separation between vehicular and pedestrian traffic, for safe student arrival and departure.

New Northeast Elementary School – This project includes the construction of a new 25 classroom Elementary school including one classroom designated for flexibility or growth.  The project will be located on a Northeast site to meet the needs of students in the growing Northeast area.  The site size will allow sufficient separation between vehicular and pedestrian traffic, for safe student arrival and departure.

Hall, Humboldt, Noyes, and Edison

Renovate:

Benton High School will undergo comprehensive interior remodeling and space reconfiguration to support current and future desired educational programs.  The building will also receive Triage in Ten work (infrastructure upgrades and abatement), “Community Planning Principles” work (Life/Safety upgrades, Interior Environmental improvements, Site improvements, accommodations for people with disabilities, remodeling for special education programs), the addition of air conditioning (one pipe geothermal system), Security upgrades, and PE and Athletic upgrades (possible match).

Central High School will undergo Triage in Ten work (infrastructure upgrades and abatement), PE and Athletic upgrades (possible match), and the renovation and air conditioning (one pipe geothermal system) of the auditorium.

Lafayette High School will undergo Triage in Ten work (infrastructure upgrades and abatement), the addition of air conditioning (one pipe geothermal system), Security upgrades, and the complete renovation of the Biology Labs to accommodate the educational program.

Bode Middle School will undergo Triage in Ten work (infrastructure upgrades and abatement) to insure that the building is maintained in acceptable operating condition.

Coleman Elementary School will undergo Triage in Ten work (infrastructure upgrades and abatement),  “Community Planning Principles” work (Life/Safety upgrades, Interior Environmental improvements, Site improvements, accommodations for people with disabilities, remodeling for special education programs), the addition of air conditioning (one pipe geothermal system), and Security upgrades.  Additionally, a six classroom (and associated space) addition will be constructed to accommodate the desired student enrollment, and meet educational program needs.

Skaith Elementary School will undergo Triage in Ten work (infrastructure upgrades and abatement),  “Community Planning Principles” work (Life/Safety upgrades, Interior Environmental improvements, Site improvements, accommodations for people with disabilities, remodeling for special education programs), the addition of air conditioning (one pipe geothermal system), and Security upgrades.  Additionally, a six classroom (and associated space) addition will be constructed to accommodate the desired student enrollment, and meet educational program needs.

 

PHASE TWO

Renovate:

Benton High School will undergo a replacement of the football field with a new Turf football field.

Central High School will undergo a comprehensive renovation and space reconfiguration to support current and future desired educational programs.  Additionally, the project will restore the building envelope (walls, windows, roof), create new landscaping, enhance the entrance appearance and experience, replace the football field with a new turf field, create a new press box and locker rooms, request closure of one block of 26th street, add exterior lighting, “Community Planning Principles” work (Life/Safety upgrades, Interior Environmental improvements, Site improvements, accommodations for people with disabilities, remodeling for special education programs), the addition of air conditioning (one pipe geothermal system), and Security upgrades.

Parkway Elementary School will undergo Triage in Ten work (infrastructure upgrades and abatement),  “Community Planning Principles” work (Life/Safety upgrades, Interior Environmental improvements, Site improvements, accommodations for people with disabilities, remodeling for special education programs), and Security upgrades.  Additionally, a six classroom (and associated space) addition will be constructed to accommodate the desired student enrollment, and meet educational program needs.

Spring Garden Middle School will be remodeled/repurposed to become the new Hyde Elementary School.  The project includes Triage in Ten work (infrastructure upgrades and abatement),  “Community Planning Principles” work (Life/Safety upgrades, Interior Environmental improvements, Site improvements, accommodations for people with disabilities, remodeling for special education programs), the addition of air conditioning (one pipe geothermal system), and Security upgrades.

Truman Middle School will undergo Triage in Ten work (infrastructure upgrades and abatement), “Community Planning Principles” work (Life/Safety upgrades, Interior Environmental improvements, Site improvements, accommodations for people with disabilities, remodeling for special education programs).  Additionally, a gymnasium addition will be constructed to provide an on-site venue for the schools physical education program needs.

Ellison Elementary School will undergo Triage in Ten work (infrastructure upgrades and abatement), “Community Planning Principles” work (Life/Safety upgrades, Interior Environmental improvements, Site improvements, accommodations for people with disabilities, remodeling for special education programs), the addition of air conditioning (one pipe geothermal system), and Security upgrades.  Additionally, a six classroom (and associated space) addition will be constructed to accommodate the desired student enrollment, and meet educational program need.

Lake Contrary Elementary School will receive additions and be remodeled/repurposed to become the pilot 6-8 Middle School for the District. The project will also include Triage in Ten work (infrastructure upgrades and abatement),  “Community Planning Principles” work (Life/Safety upgrades, Interior Environmental improvements, Site improvements, accommodations for people with disabilities, remodeling for special education programs), the addition of air conditioning (one pipe geothermal system), and Security upgrades.  Additional athletic facilities will be added to accommodate the Middle School physical educational program needs.

 

PHASE FOUR

Build:

New Northeast Middle School – This project includes the construction of a new 26 classroom Middle School for approximately 550 students, implementing the Middle School facility and grade configuration change from four 7 – 8 Middle Schools to five  6 – 8 Middle Schools.  The project will be located on a Northeast site to meet the needs of students in the growing Northeast area.  The site size will allow sufficient separation between vehicular and pedestrian traffic, for safe student arrival and departure.

Robidoux Middle School will receive additions and be remodeled to become a 6-8 Middle School for approximately 550 students.  The project will also include Triage in Ten work (infrastructure upgrades and abatement), “Community Planning Principles” work (Life/Safety upgrades, Interior Environmental improvements, Site improvements, accommodations for people with disabilities, remodeling for special education programs), the addition of air conditioning (one pipe geothermal system), and Security upgrades.

Truman Middle School will receive additions and be remodeled to become a 6-8 Middle School for approximately 550 students.  The project will also include “Community Planning Principles” work (Life/Safety upgrades, Interior Environmental improvements, Site improvements, accommodations for people with disabilities, remodeling for special education programs), the addition of air conditioning (one pipe geothermal system), and Security upgrades.

Pickett Elementary School will receive additions and be remodeled/repurposed to become a 6-8 Middle School for approximately 550 students.
